Fashion Island is Newport Beach’s premier retail destination. This upscale open-air shopping center features brands such as Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom plus over 30 restaurants. Lido Marina Village offers boutique shopping and romantic dining right on the waterfront. Lido Marina is accessible by boat, and restaurants at the marina offer dock-and-dine service. Marine Avenue on Balboa Island is lined with a wide variety of restaurants serving cuisine from around the world. Head to Wilma’s Patio Restaurant for hearty portions of American comfort cooking, enjoy dinner with live music around the fireside in The Village Inn, or visit Basilic for a seasonal menu of French-Swiss dishes and nightly fish specials. Back on the mainland, A Restaurant on West Pacific Coast Highway specializes in creative new American cuisine in a 1920s-inspired setting. Things to Do
The vibrant community of Newport Beach hosts many special events and festivals throughout the year. In April, Newport Beach Film Festival features a week of gala premieres, film screenings, and industry networking events. The Hoag Classic in March is a PGA Tour event held at the Newport Beach Country Club. Members of Newport Beach Country Club have access to its scenic golf course that was designed in the 1950s by William “Billy” Bell and updated several times by renowned architect Ted Robinson. For over a century, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade has marked a colorful beginning to the holiday season. The Newport Beach Jazz Festival is a three-day festival in June featuring world-class jazz musicians at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.
